A network managed from one console, across multiple sites too
We design, deploy and maintain networks on the Zyxel Networks platform. With documented IP addressing and licence costs stated upfront, as a recurring expense alongside the hardware.
What the Zyxel platform is
Based on the vendor's materials (zyxel.com). We don't add features the vendor doesn't claim.
- The vendor states that its cloud platform lets you manage wireless, switching, security and cellular connectivity from a single console.
- The platform supports zero-touch provisioning from the cloud, so equipment can be brought online at many sites.
- The security layer includes protection against malware and unauthorised applications, with central management for small offices and remote sites.
- The management and reporting layer runs centrally from the cloud across the whole product range.
- The vendor also targets its switch range at small and medium-sized businesses.
- The vendor states plainly that security, management and reporting features require separate licences.
What we do
- We design the network before any hardware is bought: zones, IP addressing and access point placement.
- We survey coverage on site, because the number of access points can't be worked out from floor area.
- We configure zones and rules defining which devices can communicate with each other.
- We set up remote access with named accounts and a second login factor.
- We monitor devices and keep their firmware up to date as part of managed support.
- We hand over network documentation and access credentials formally, as your property.
One caveat about the vendor's materials
The vendor says rolling out additional sites doesn't require an IT specialist. That's true for plugging in the hardware, which pulls its configuration from the cloud. It doesn't apply to network design, IP addressing, zoning and access rules. That part still needs engineering work, and we won't pretend otherwise, because skipping it is the fastest route to a network that works only until it needs troubleshooting.

Net prices. Licences for security and reporting features are a recurring cost; we show them separately in the quote rather than hiding them in the service price.

What we won't claim
Vendor and reseller websites are full of promises. We won't make these:
- We won't state our partnership tier or partner programme number.
- We won't claim that every device from the vendor supports the cloud platform. We check model compatibility separately.
- We can't take responsibility for your internet connection's availability. That always rests with the provider.
- We won't repeat the vendor's marketing adjectives as a technical description.
- We won't state the number of access points without an on-site survey.
Questions o Zyxel Networks.
Zyxel or Ubiquiti UniFi?
We have a partnership with Zyxel Networks, which means access to the vendor's support channel and technical resources; that matters when a problem can't be solved locally. We deploy UniFi from scratch and take over existing installations, without a partner status. We don't replace working infrastructure just because of the brand.
Do licences need renewing?
Yes. The vendor states that security, management and reporting features require separate licences. It's a recurring cost on top of the one-off hardware cost, and we include it in the quote from the start so there are no surprises a year later.
We have three sites. Can they be managed from one place?
Yes, and that's the platform's main practical advantage. The vendor states that devices pull their configuration from the cloud, so bringing equipment online at a new site doesn't require sending an engineer. We still prepare the network design and access rules in advance, remotely.
